What to Know About Our English White Labrador Breeding
Bringing home a puppy is a big, exciting decision, and we believe it should come with clear information and a whole lot of peace of mind. Whether you’re just starting your search or you’re already picturing a little White Lab curled up at your feet, our goal is to make this process feel simple, supportive, and fun.
Below you’ll find answers to the questions we hear most often, including where we’re located, how deposits work, when puppies go home, and how to get on our waiting list. If you don’t see your question here, reach out anytime; we’re always happy to help.
General Questions: What You Need to Know
To reserve a puppy, we require a $500 non-refundable deposit, which holds your spot on our reservation list. Puppies are selected in the order deposits are received, so if you’re hoping for an upcoming litter, it’s always best to reserve early.
If a pregnancy does not happen, or there aren’t enough puppies of the sex you requested, you can choose a full refund or move your deposit to a future litter, whichever works best for you.
Our English White Labrador puppies are $7,500, and your $500 deposit goes toward the total. The remaining balance is due at the time you choose your puppy.
Puppy selection begins at 6 weeks old, which is usually right around the time their personalities start shining and everyone begins falling in love.
Yes, and we love making you part of the journey. We know waiting is the hardest part, so we send weekly 10–15 minute videos so you can see your puppy growing, playing, and developing their personality.
Each puppy also wears a different colored ribbon from birth, so it’s easy to keep track of your little one as they grow week by week.
Puppies are ready to go home at 8 weeks old. Until then, we keep families updated with videos, photos, and plenty of sweet moments to help you feel connected as you count down the days.
Getting on our waiting list is easy. Just send us an email at puppies@hiddenoaklabs.com, and we’ll send you our puppy contract to review.
If you’d rather talk through everything by phone, include your phone number (with area code) in the email, and we’ll be happy to give you a call.
Bringing Home Your Puppy: Training & Travel Questions
Puppy selection happens in the order deposits are received. So, if you’re third on the list for a male in a specific litter, you’ll get third pick of the male puppies.
Around six weeks old, we’ll share a video that highlights each puppy’s personality. Some pups are bold and curious, ready for every adventure, while others are total cuddle bugs who would rather stay close and soak up attention. We’ll help guide you through the process so you can feel confident you’re choosing the best match for your home and lifestyle.
Most of our puppies are reserved before they’re even born, so if you’re serious about bringing home an English White Labrador, we recommend joining the list early.
Yes, we do. If you’d like your puppy to have a head start before they come home, we offer three training packages designed to match different family needs and goals.
Because training takes time, consistency, and hands-on attention, space is limited. If you think training might be a good fit, take a look at our program options and reach out early so we can reserve a spot for your puppy.
No matter where you live, we’ll help you choose the best and safest way to bring your puppy home. Our goal is always the same: a smooth, low-stress trip that keeps your English White Lab puppy comfortable and secure.
- Pick Up in Troy, AL: Come to our home, meet your puppy in person, and take them home right from where they’ve been raised.
- Puppy Fly In-Cabin with Us: One of our team members can fly with your puppy in-cabin to your nearest airport. You’ll meet them at baggage claim. This option requires round-trip airfare, a puppy ticket, and a $595 pet delivery fee.
- Fly to Pick Up Your Puppy: Prefer to bring your puppy home yourself? You can fly in, and we’ll meet you at the airport. We also offer a $425 delivery service to bring your puppy to the Atlanta Airport for pickup. You cover your flight and an airline-approved pet carrier, and we’ll help guide you through the process.
- Ground Delivery: We can deliver your puppy directly to your home, or meet you at a location that makes sense for both of us. This helps avoid exposure to unfamiliar animals while keeping your puppy comfortable the entire trip. Contact us for a personalized quote.
- Private Plane Pickup: If you’re arriving by private plane, we can meet you at Troy Municipal Airport (TOI), just 15 miles from our home.
Whichever option you choose, we’ll make sure your puppy arrives happy, healthy, and ready to settle into life with you.
Yes, we would love for you to visit! Our 200-acre facility is one of the things that makes Hidden Oak Labradors so special, and we love giving families the chance to experience it in person.
Visits give you the opportunity to meet your future puppy, see how our dogs are raised, and get a firsthand look at the environment we’ve built for ethical, responsible breeding. From our health testing standards to early socialization, enrichment, and gentle training routines, everything we do is rooted in care and purpose.
We’re big believers in transparency. We welcome questions, we love showing you around, and we want you to leave feeling confident, not just in your puppy, but in the values behind the program that raised them.
Health, Registration, & Warranty Questions
Yes, they do. We stand behind the health and well-being of every puppy we raise, and we want you to feel confident from the moment your puppy comes home. Our puppy contract includes a health guarantee, along with the details you’ll want to review before placing a deposit.
If you’d like a copy of the contract, let us know, and we’ll be happy to send it over. And if anything in it sparks a question, ask away. We’re here to help, and we want everything to feel clear and comfortable.
Absolutely. Health is one of the most important parts of responsible breeding, and we take it seriously. Our parent dogs receive thorough health testing to help protect future puppies from avoidable genetic concerns. This includes hip and elbow evaluations through OFA, PennHip, or FCI, along with genetic screening.
We’re also big on transparency. You can view each parent dog’s health clearances directly on our website so you can see exactly what has been tested and why it matters.
AKC Limited Registration means your puppy is officially registered with the American Kennel Club, but any puppies they may produce in the future would not be eligible for AKC registration. It also means they cannot compete in AKC conformation (breed) shows.
That said, limited registration still allows your dog to participate in a wide variety of fun AKC activities like obedience, agility, tracking, and hunting tests. If you’re interested in Full Registration, we do consider it for approved homes. Reach out, and we’ll talk through your goals and what makes the most sense for you and the breed.
Questions About Our White Lab Breeding Process
We’re incredibly thoughtful about the traits we prioritize in our English White Labrador breeding program, and it all comes back to one goal: raising dogs that make wonderful companions. English White Labs are known for their gentle nature, loyalty, and steady temperaments, and we work hard to protect and strengthen those qualities in every generation.
We specifically breed for dogs that thrive in family life, including patience with kids, adaptability in new environments, and that natural Lab friendliness that makes them so easy to love. Intelligence matters too. Our Labs are bright, responsive, and eager to learn, which is why they often do wonderfully in training and can excel as service or therapy dogs.
Health and structure are just as important. We focus on strong lineage and responsible pairing, and we work intentionally to reduce the risk of common breed concerns like hip and elbow dysplasia. Every litter is planned with long-term wellness in mind.
For us, ethical breeding is not a label; it’s the standard we hold ourselves to every day. It begins long before a litter is planned, with health testing, careful evaluation, and a commitment to doing what is best for the dogs, not what is easiest for us.
Each of our breeding dogs receives thorough health screenings through certified organizations to help rule out genetic concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, heart conditions, and hereditary eye disorders. We also prioritize temperament just as strongly. We’re selective about raising Labs that are calm, affectionate, and stable, the kind of dogs families can trust and enjoy for years.
Ethical breeding, to us, means staying informed, being transparent, and making intentional decisions with the future of the breed in mind.
From their very first days, our puppies are surrounded by warmth, routine, and loving care. They begin life in our dedicated puppy nursery, a calm, cozy space created specifically for mom and babies. Keeping puppies with their mother through these early stages is incredibly important because the mother plays a huge role in teaching social skills and building confidence. Early separation can lead to issues later in life, so we make sure puppies stay where they belong, close to mom, safe, and secure.
As they grow, puppies begin exploring more of the facility. They spend time in puppy playrooms filled with age-appropriate toys and obstacle-style enrichment, which helps build coordination, curiosity, and confidence. They also graduate to our outdoor turf run, giving them a safe, clean space to experience fresh air and playtime, while continuing to grow strong and steady.
Nutrition plays a huge role in your puppy’s health, growth, and overall well-being, which is why we feed and recommend TLC Whole Life Dog Food. It’s a premium, balanced formula designed to support strong development, healthy energy levels, and beautiful coats, which English White Labs are definitely known for.
TLC is packed with high-quality proteins, essential fats, and the nutrients puppies need to thrive. Want to learn more about why we trust it for dogs? Check out our supply recommendations.
Choosing a puppy is a big decision, and we want you to feel completely confident every step of the way. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, or you’d like to talk through upcoming litters, deposits, training, or puppy pickup options, reach out anytime. We’re always happy to chat, share details, and help you decide if an English White Labrador is the right fit for your family.
